Uncategorized February 11th, 2008On Sunday, February 10, 2008 Erik Lindgren hosted FTOPS 7 Event #9 – $322 buy in – No Limit Holdem. The field consisted of 5637 players and lasted 11 hours. After getting down to the last 9 players, Lindgren held a chip lead coming into the final table with a third of the total chips in play. He managed to knock out the first three players at the table. After an hour of all-in confrontations, Lindgren and a player named “Kochan” found themselves heads up with roughly equal stacks. Lindgren quickly gained a 7 to 1 lead when he flopped trip 6’s and Kochan flopped a pair of Queens. In a total of four hands, the tournament was finally over when Lindgren’s pocket jacks cracked Kochan’s pocket queens with a runner-runner flush. Erik Lindgren took home $291,000 for his efforts and became the first Full Tilt sponsored pro and event host to take down an FTOPS event.

Oh man! Eric Lindgren sucked out a win there. He was beat from the start and the flop looked like it would give Kochan the win.
But for Lindgren to hit runner, runner diamonds to make a flush is a crazy way for it to end.
Kochan probably jumped out of his seat when he saw the queen on the flop, only to be shot down on the river.
That is just a sick way to lose on the last hand. We’ve heard it said before and we’ll hear it again…
THAT’S POKER!!!!!!!!
