Urindanger nets $330k in Pot Limit Omaha high stakes sessions

With Gus Hansen and Ilari Sahamies aka Ziigmund sitting at the Full Tilt cash tables on Sunday, the games were very intense. Six figure pots went back and forth and Urindanger aka Hac Dang managed to profit the most, totaling (+330k), with Icallsowhat (+220k), and Gus Hansen (+145k) leading right behind. The biggest losers of the day were Lady Marmelade (-240k), Tsarrast (-230k, and Cole South (-140k). Durrrr aka Tom Dwan managed to scoop the biggest pot seen, however he still ended up down overall (-110k).

David Singer wins Full Tilt $ 25k Heads-Up World Championship tournament

With a prize pool of $1.6 million, Full Tilt Poker ’s $25k Heads-Up Championship has become the biggest heads-up shootout tournament ever hosted. A field of 64 players, 22 of whom are Full Tilt pros, showed up for this event. The tournament played down until the final 4 players remained, David Singer, Andy Bloch, Brian Hastings, and Whitelime aka Emil Patel. David Singer would eliminated Brian Hastings when his pocket 5’s outdrew Hastings pocket 9’s with all the money in preflop. Meanwhile Andy Bloch was struggling to stay alive near the end before finally got knocked out by Whitelime when his Ace Ten failed to catch against Whitelime’s pocket 7’s.
David Singer was able to have the chip lead from the get go. Whitelime made a daring move with 10 3 offsuit, and unfortunately for him, it cost him 1st place. David Singer’s hand would hold up and he would pocket $560,000 for taking down the $25k buy-in tournament.

Full Tilt Poker hosted the biggest buy in tournament in online history Saturday with a $25,000 buy in heads up shootout. 64 players made the field making a first place prize worth $560,000. Of course, the large buy in drew in many of the biggest names in both the online and live high stakes poker community, including both Full Tilt sponsored pros as well as non signed pros. The popular Full Tilt names in the field included Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Brian Hastings AKa ‘$tinger88′, Gus Hansen, and Phil Ivey. Other online pros in the field included Dani ‘Ansky451′ Stern, Tom Dwan aka durrrr, Patrick Antonius aka FinddaGrind, and Phil Gandolph aka OMGClayAiken. The structure called for heads up matches much the way of the NBC Heads up Championship. First round casualties of the tournament included Chris Ferguson, Huck Seed, Erik Seidel, Erick Lindgren, Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, and Gus Hansen among others. We pick up the action in the second round of play with the two most intriguing match ups. These are two situations of live players playing against primarily online players. In one match we see Andy Bloch take on Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, and the other saw Patrick ‘FinddaGrind’ Antonius play big game regular Eli Elezra. The play was very deep stacked with the players starting with 10,000 in chips at the 20/40 level, leaving the players 250 big blinds to begin play. Our first big hand came up when Patrick Antonius took a sizable pot off Eli Elezra. After calling a preflop raise, Antonius led the turn and river and was called down. Antonius revealed a turned flush and took down a sizable pot.

Bloch took another pot off Dwan when he called a preflop threebet and made a gutsy call on both the flop and turn with bottom pair. Dwan gave up the river and Bloch’s bottom pair took down a big pot.

FTOPS VIII Main Event champion is Cheesemonster

Full Tilt Poker ended its FTOPS VIII series with the $535 No Limit Holdem Main Event. 4,750 players entered this tournament and brought the prize pool up to 2.3 million dollars. After more than 10 hours of play, the final table went underway with more than $1.2 million paying out to the last nine finishers. A relatively known internet player Jason Strasser aka. strassa2, made the final table and was the first one to be eliminated. Cheesemonster was the one to knock him out and eventually held the chip lead for the remainder of the table. The biggest break came to Marmoss who landed a two-outer on the river against R2dl0bster and went onto go heads up against Cheesemonster. Holding a 3 to 1 chip advantage, Cheesemonster knocked out his opponent to take down the Main Event and the 1st place prize, worth $410,780.
