A court motion was filed recently in Quebec that is grabbing headlines on both sides of the boarders. An anonymous woman filed a claim for spousal support against a multi billionaire living in Quebec. This man is a provincial business leader and the creator of Cirque du Soleil. has been a common law husband to two women. With both there has been great history and involvement, however with Rizia Moreira there was a split after the birth of their 3rd child. The woman is asking for 56k / month and 50 million.

From what is currently known, Rizia Moreira met Guy when she was only 17 in Brazil. We know at that time she was in school and her dad was paying the bill. From there she fell in love with Guy and they moved to Canada against her dad’s wishes. At that point they began living in common law marriage. They had 3 children together, and have long since fallen out. Standard law in Quebec would allow for him to support the children, and their needs, but not Rizia’s, regardless of how long they lived together. She is pushing to change that law now, with the help of a former lover Herbert Black. Rizia’s challenge is not only against Quebec common law but a constitutional challenge.
