High Stakes Omaha Gus Hansen

Double-ups and bustouts abounded in high stakes action on Sunday night at Full Tilt Poker. Two $500-$1000 HA tables were going with Gus Hansen, Hac Dang “trex313” , and Patrik Antonius populating both. Dang had to endure a several bustouts early on. The first came when he moved all-in on the flop with a pair of kings. Antonius called, having flopped two pair. The two pair held up and Antonius took down a pot worth $85,888.

A raising war occurred pre-flop and by the time the smoke cleared, Dang had moved all-in a third time. This time had a monster hand with A-A-J-10 double suited. Gus Hansen made the call with K-K-3-5 with the 3-5 suited. Hansen would pull off a major suckout in this hand, catching a five on both the flop and turn to win the hand with trip fives. Dang busted for the third time in a row and reloaded yet again.

Hac Dang finally won back one of his buy-ins when Gus Hansen called the all-in from Dang on the flop with only a pair of fives and needed a lot of help when Dang showed aces and a gutshot draw. Dang would hit his draw and take a pot worth over $78,000.

Shortly after this hand, Antonius and Hansen started vanishing from tables and the other pros decided to take a break for a while. Although not stated, it did seem that Antonius was hanging around waiting for durrrr to show. Of course, durrrr seems to like to play in the $500 – $1000 cash games, so the challenge may not have continued. A lot of the railbirds were commenting on the improvement that Hansen has seemed to make in his cash game play. At the same time, many were also bemoaning the bad luck of Dang. Dang for the most part had a rough day at the tables, but he was able to keep his losses down a little with his double up.
