Full Tilt Poker has been busy adding tons of new features to their online poker room. They are by far the leader in technology in the online poker business. Over the last few months they have added a poker academy, micro limit games, new layer of security, a new web 2.0 look, network communication improvements, single click deposit, hot keys, and other features.
The poker academy is free and features lessons from the top pros in the world. What is really cool about the poker academy is that is has tasks for the student to complete.
The software at Full Tilt actually tracks your play at the tables and gives you points when you complete certain tasks at the table. So it’s like having a pro player over your shoulder rewarding you when you follow the instructions. e.g.
Fold KJ in early position
Full Tilt Poker has also added new ante games which make for some great action. When you enter into one of the sites ante games, each player must ante before getting hole cards. Now the action is greater because players are fighting for the antes. This is not a new approach to nit busting, but is new to online poker. There is sure to be some juicy action in ante’ed heads up poker games!
No other site offer such interaction with famous and up and coming pros. You can sit at a sit and go table with a pro like Eric Sieidel who has multiple bracelets, or you can sit in a cash game with $100,000.00 and take on Phil Ivey (not advised lol). Or, if you are just a poker fan, you can watch Gus Hansen’s roller coaster in pot limit omaha. You can even watch Tom Dwan aka durrrr challenge the poker world to a million dollar heads up challenge.
Full Tilt also boasts quality poker freerolls where you don’t even have to risk your money, but can build up a real money bankroll. Full Tilt has something for every level of player or poker fan.
An attempt was made by gunman to rob a North Carolina home game poker game at gunpoint, unfortunately for the robbers there was equal fire power at the game. In the video, a person is held at gunpoint with robbers dressed as officer. The robbers are dressed like police officers, and kick the door down. The robbery exit the game in a hurry and are chased by a gun toting patron firing and hitting one of the gunmen.
“Once the door flew open, one of the robbers screamed, ‘This is a robbery.’ One of the patrons said, ‘No, it’s not,’ and they started exchanging gunfire.”

The one robber was shot in the buttocks, and possibly the shoulder.
I reported to you last week about Gus Hansen needing an intervention to stop him from losing his bankroll. Well last night he recovered around $1,900,000 of the deficit. I still stand by my word that he was playing horrible and needed to quit. He on the other hand is a gambler at heart and decided to go all or nothing to recover his losses. I’m not claiming to know his bankroll or anything, just assuming he was in a bit of dire straights. His gambling paid off and he’s about half way there. The comeback came VS Tom Dwan, Urindanger, and other Full Tilt Poker high stakes regulars. I also stand by my opinion that he was on massive tilt because of the rational he was using when I was watching him on Gus Hansen TV.
Well here are his stats from the high stakes db :
In other poker news, Yevgeniy Timoshenko has won the World Poker Tour Championship at the Bellagio. Yevgeniy Timoshenko is now 21 and able to play in the United States of America. You can goto Iraq at 18 but not play in a casino or goto a bar, but that’s another story. I had written about my predictions for the 40k NL holdem event at the WSOP, and completely left Yevgeniy Timoshenko out because I thought he was still 20. I have to bump everyone back and place Yevgeniy Timoshenko in the top 3. Yevgeniy defeated a final table that was pretty insane, the final six included Scotty Nguyen, Shannon Shorr, Christian Harder, Bertrand Grospellier, and Ran Azor. He won the 2.1 million first place prize with relative ease completely dominating the final table.
Yevgeniy Timoshenko, a 21 year old internet poker young gun, is dominating the final table at the WPT championship. Considering that the final table consisted of Bertrand Grospellier aka Elky, Shannon Shorr, Scotty Nguyen, Christian Harder, and Ran Azor this is a pretty amazing stack.
Right now the stacks look like this:
Seat 1 – Elky Grospellier – 2,810,000
Seat 4 – Yevgeniy Timoshenko – 23,390,000
Seat 5 – Christian Harder – 1,925,000
Seat 6 – Ran Azor – 5,685,000
MY money is on Yevgeniy Timoshenko to take the WPT championship. I’m going to go even further and say that he will be WPT champion and 2009 WSOP Player of the year. And I think hes going to accomplish that by playing in just NL, PL Holdem and PL Omaha tournaments.
