Predictions for 40k NL Holdem Event in 2009 WSOP
Durrrr, High Stakes Poker, Poker, Texas Holdem Poker, WSOP, poker blog April 16th, 2009Its going to be tough to predict the results for the Event 2 in the 2009 WSOP 40k Event. This is especially hard because the online high stakes players have mostly been playing Omaha Hi and not NL Holdem. I’m going to try to predict the final table based on a number of factors. I would put Tom Dwan at number one, but he plays heads up poker for the most part, and may become impatient playing live 9 handed.
David Benefield has a good chance to take this down and I suspect hes going to put up the 40k. Doyle Brunson will totally be in his comfort zone. Phil Ivey is favored to win this event in my humble opinion. I’m going to post who I think is going to be in the top 18 and maybe make some changes as we lead up to the tourny.
Here is my prediction for 40k Event 2 2009 WSOP I can’t pick between Phil Ivey and John Juanda
1 Phil Ivey – John Juanda
2 Jonathan Little
3 Phil Galfond
4 Mike Watson
5 Justin Smith
6 Doyle Brunson
7 Tom Dwan
8 Phil Hellmuth
9 Daniel Negreanu
10 Andy Bloch
11 Kathy Leibert
12 David Benefield
13 Sorel Mizzi
14 Gus Hansen
15 Jon Turner
16 Patrik Antonius
17 David Benyamine
18
I don’t know, I could be totally off, but it depends on how Phil Ivey is feeling the day of the tournament. I depends on Jon Turner hitting flops and not getting unlucky with his premium hands. I sort of have feeling John Juanda is going to take this down with his aggression. Doyle Brunson will be the most comfortable since hes worth so much and plays live daily. He is also the most patient besides Jon Turner. Phil Hellmuth will be wanting to prove everyone wrong and that he can beat a strong field. I don’t think Daniel’s small ball crap will work with a strong field.
Personally I think small ball is the easiest system to beat.
One thing is for sure, I think its going to be a nice prize pool and make for very good TV. Once I get the roster, I’m going to make a post as the tournament starts , so I can make substitutions.
