I reported to you last week about Gus Hansen needing an intervention to stop him from losing his bankroll. Well last night he recovered around $1,900,000 of the deficit. I still stand by my word that he was playing horrible and needed to quit. He on the other hand is a gambler at heart and decided to go all or nothing to recover his losses. I’m not claiming to know his bankroll or anything, just assuming he was in a bit of dire straights. His gambling paid off and he’s about half way there. The comeback came VS Tom Dwan, Urindanger, and other Full Tilt Poker high stakes regulars. I also stand by my opinion that he was on massive tilt because of the rational he was using when I was watching him on Gus Hansen TV.

Well here are his stats from the high stakes db :

In other poker news, Yevgeniy Timoshenko has won the World Poker Tour Championship at the Bellagio. Yevgeniy Timoshenko is now 21 and able to play in the United States of America. You can goto Iraq at 18 but not play in a casino or goto a bar, but that’s another story. I had written about my predictions for the 40k NL holdem event at the WSOP, and completely left Yevgeniy Timoshenko out because I thought he was still 20. I have to bump everyone back and place Yevgeniy Timoshenko in the top 3. Yevgeniy defeated a final table that was pretty insane, the final six included Scotty Nguyen, Shannon Shorr, Christian Harder, Bertrand Grospellier, and Ran Azor. He won the 2.1 million first place prize with relative ease completely dominating the final table.
