theashman103 wins the 2009 25k heads up championship

It was really exciting to watch the top heads up NL Holdem players in the world battle it out for the first place prize of over 500k in the 25k Heads Up Championship. Amongst the top pros competing in the field were poker professionals, high stakes players, poker instructors, FTOPS winners, and satellite winners. I needed a change of pace and was interested to see how the cash game players would play in a freezeout where they wouldn’t be able to buy in again. I was also paying close attention to there use of blind raises and how much the different players would raise. I noticed many of the players using small ball strategy(which IMO is the easiest to counter), and how their opponent would adjust. I also got to see Lukas Schwartz aka _fullflush1_ take on Tom Dwan aka Durrrr in a much anticipated heads up match and how sweet it was! I was impressed with the aggressive play of Ivan Lendl but was saddened to see him get beat up in the side games. David Benyamine was kicking some serious but in the Pot Limit Omaha site games that were pretty busy. I look forward to watch the WSOP heads up match if they have it this year.
