Full Tilt Poker releases new poker client in Beta

Posted by Poker Videos on July 31st, 2009

Full Tilt Poker has released a sophisticated new poker client. As if Full Tilt wasn’t already ahead of the competition they have come out with a new client that is years ahead of the rest of the poker sites.

The new client has a basic view, standard view, and the old classic view. In the basic view, the client allows users to easily pick the type of game (real money or play), game type (sit and go, mtt or ring), game type, limit, and then stakes.

In the standard view it has a video player in the bottom left to let players keep up with promotions. It has all the games and game types in the middle. The standard view is what sets Full Tilt Poker apart from the rest now. It is highly customizable so you don’t have to dig around looking for your regular games you play. If you are a low stakes stud player, you can set it so that it only shows your games types. If you are a high stakes poker railbird, you can have it set to all the different high stakes games.

The new client has a new security measure to protect your account from unscrupulous hackers. It has you create a pin number as an extra precaution.
This comes in handy if you have a huge roll from winning a big tournament or if you are a high stakes player.

One of my favorite features is the lobby widgets. You can add a widget to give info on tournaments, see how many Full Tilt Points you have accumulated, or add a player list window for ring games.

Now is a good time to join Full Tilt Poker an experience their new software. They have many promotions going on like their upcoming FTOPS XIII and $100 refer a friend campaign. Good luck to their top pro Phil Ivey who made it to the November Nine final table of the 2009 World Series of Poker.

High Stakes Poker Update July 2009

Posted by Poker Videos on July 29th, 2009

After all the action at the 2009 World Series of Poker and Bobby’s Room the action is returning to the high stakes rooms at Full Tilt Poker. Bobby’s room had a ton of action going on with Chinese poker, huge Pot Limit Omaha, and the usual limit games. At Full Tilt Poker, Richard Ashby is up more than a million dollars this month, Cole South is up almost a million in the last seven days, and Gus Hansen. is up a million over the last week too. In Gus Hansen’s case he is just about even now for the last 30 days because of his major swings. Ashton Griffin aka theASHMAN103 is up about 600k in the last week. Ashton Griffin is also known for 1st place finish in the 25k heads up championship. Ashton has some FTOPS wins under his belt in addition to the 25k Heads Up championship, which is pretty astonishing considering hes under 21. I believe he was removed from the Bellagio for being under age a few weeks ago (he talks about it in his audio blog on youtube but its too hard to listen to because of his mic). Niki Jedlicka and Patrick Antonius have been going at it over the last couple weeks. Niki was up big on him and lost around $550k back to Antonius in one session. John Juanda is up around 700k for the year and that’s just online. John Juanda gets little attention from forums and blogs and yet is one of the most successful poker pros of all time. DIN_FRU is down over 400k in the last 24 hours over 2500 hands.

I’m looking for increased action in the online poker rooms but slightly smaller stakes being played because of the economy. I expect to see more 25/50 games and less 100/200 and I expect more 200/400 and less 500/1000.

KtownCicero wins the Full Tilt Poker 750K guaranteed

Posted by Poker Videos on July 27th, 2009

Full Tilt’s weekly $750,000 guaranteed event kicked off Sunday with 4,401 players turning out to take their shot at the $155,434.52 top prize. 585 player received a payday and the total prize pool for the event was $880,200.

Over 40 Full Tilt Poker red pros turned out for the event. Those finishing in the money were Paul Wolfe in 356th, Eddy Scharf in 347th, Brian Hastings in 157th, and Brandon Adams who finished in 49th.

4,392 players had to fall before we had our final table of nine. This is how the final nine players started in chips:

00s 774,672

crazyz987 2,146,534

chkrazethedevil 127,729

feltingfools 749,148

kishotti 1,025,034

HITTHEPANDA 1,734,209

wvumaniac2 1,734,617

jba1986 2,017,000

KtownCicero 2,894,057

Chkrazethedevil 9th

A crazy three way hand resulted in our first elimination. Chkrazethedevil moved all-in from under the gun for 346,458. KtownCicero made the call. Action folded to wvumaniac2 who moved all-in for 1.38 Million. Action then folded to the big blind crazyz987, who then came over the top all-in. Ktowncicero got out of the way and we were off to the races. Chkrazethedevil was first all-in but third best with his Ah-8s. Wvumaniac2 held As-Kc and crazyz987 held pocket queens. Wvumaniac2 spiked his miracle card with a king on the flop. Chkrazethedevil picked up a flush draw on the turn but the river failed to improve him. Wvumaniac2 tripled up to over 3.5 Million and chkrazethedevil hit the rail in 9th.

00s finished in 8th

00s was next to leave the final table. He moved all-in from under the gun and KtownCicero made the call. HITTHEPANDA then moed all-in for 1.9 Million and KtownCicero got out of the way. HITTHEPANDA was actually dominated pre-flop with Ah-Qd against the Ad-Kd of 00s. The flop fell 6h-As-Jd, missing both players. The turn fell the Qs to give HITTHEPANDA the lead and 00s a straight draw. The river fell the Jh and 00s hit the rail in 8th.

kishotti finished in 7th

Kishotti finished this event in 7th place. Wvumaniac2 raised to 148,500 from UTG+1 and kishotti made the call. The flop fell 10c-7h-2s and wvumaniac2 bet out 240,000. Kishotti raised to 480,000 and wvumaniac2 moved in for 2.76 Million. Kishotti made the call and found herself in bad shape with pocket sixes against the Ad-10d of wvumaniac2. The turn and river failed to produce a three and kishotti was gone.

jba1986 6th

wvumaniac2 eliminated in 5th

In two hands, wvumaniac2 went from 1.78 Million in chips to 5th place. First, HITTHEPANDA moved all-in from UTG for 1.28 Million and wvumaniac2 made the call. HITTHEPANDA held Ah-Kc against pocket kings. The flop and turn kept HITTHEPANDA on the ropes, but the river fell the Ad to double him up and leave wvumaniac with 513,832 chips. The next hand, KtownCicero limped in from the button and wvumaniac2 moved all-in with Ks-6d. KtownCicero made the call with pocket sevens. Two aces on the flop and turn left wvumaniac2 needing a king to win. The river fell the 9h and wvumaniac2 finished in 5th.

feltingfools eliminated 4th

Feltingfools took a sick beat to finish in 4th place. He moved all-in from UTG for 1.16 Million and KtownCicero made the call. Feltingfools had him dominated with Kc-Qs against Kh-8h. The flop fell Ah-Ks-Ac to keep feltingfools in the lead. The turn fell the 10h to give KtownCicero a flush draw. The river then fell the 9h to give KtownCicero a runner-runner flush and send feltingfools to the rail in an unlikely 4th place.

At the third break of the final table, this is how the last three players stacked up:

KtownCicero 6,202,732

HITTHEPANDA 3,735,343

crazyz987 3,264,925

crazyz987 3rd

Crazyz987 finished in 3rd place. KtownCicero min-raised to 320,000 pre-flop and Crazyz987 moved all-in for his last 1.5 Million. KtownCicero made the call with pocket sevens and found himself racing the Kd-Qh of crazyz987. The board failed to produce a king or queen and we were heads-up.

Heading into heads-up play KtownCicero held a 9.71 Million to 3.49 Million lead over HITTHEPANDA.

HITTHEPANDA doubles up

HITTHEPANDA then doubled up through KtownCiceroto take the chip lead with 7.264 Million. All the chips went in pre-flop and it was a race with HITTHEPANDA ahead with pocket jacks against the Kd-Qc of KtownCicero. The board came 10 high and HITTHEPANDA took the lead.

4 Million Chip Pot

HITTHEPANDA then took a 4 Million chip pot off KtownCicero to move over 8.2 Million. He turned a straight and value bet at the river with both a flush and full house possible.

11.9 Milllion Pot

Play went back and forth for a bit before another big pot between the two that would shift the tide back into KtownCicero’s favor. HITTHEPANDA raised to 400,000 and then KtownCicero made it 1 Million straight. HITTHEPANDA moved all-in for 7.21 Million and KtownCicero made the call. HITTHEPANDA was ahead with As-8c against Ks-Jd. Unfortunately for him, KtownCicero spiked a jack on the flop. The turn and river failed to produce an ace and KtownCicero took down a 11.932 Million pot. HITTHEPANDA was left with only 1.27 Million.

KtownCicero Wins Sunday 750k

HITTHEPANDA put those chips to risk a few hands later when he moved in from the button with 7d-4c. KtownCicero made the call with Jd-10s. The flop missed both player. The turn fell the Jc to give KtownCicero a pair of jacks and HITTHEPANDA was drawing dead. HITTHEPANDA finished in 2nd place and took home $94,093.38 for a strong finish.

KtownCicero came into this final table with a slight chip lead and had a fight ahead of him. A very telling sign of how he ran was that the only time he was all-in for his tournament life was during heads up play. He got lucky at the right time and took down this coveted title. KtownCicero took home $155,434.52 and bragging rights for the week.

Pot Limit Omaha theASHMAN103 – Cole South – KObyTAPOUT

Posted by Poker Videos on July 25th, 2009

Wednesday night saw more high stakes, anted Pot Limit Omaha action on Full Tilt Poker. Full Tilt Poker Pros Richard Ashby, and Cole South joined high stakes regulars ‘rospodin,’ ‘theASHMAN103,’ and ‘tsarrast,’ in some of the highest stakes games on the net. As always, the high stakes PLO game saw a lot of preflop action with frequent three bets and consistent action post flop. ‘theASHMAN103’ and Richard Ashby seemed to be the big winners as we joined action, sitting with $150,000 and $85,000 respectively. The first big pot we saw was a pot worth over $35,000 going towards ‘rospodin’ when he get all his money in on the flop against ‘theASHMAN103.’

Ashby 1

‘KObyTAPOUT’ joined the game, but wasn’t welcomed with opening arms. On the flop of the following hand, all the money went in the middle, and when it was all added up the pot was worth over $80,000. While Cole South found himself against the nut straight on the turn, a heart on the river put him on top and collecting the pot.

Ashby 2

Shortly after, the game became five handed when ‘HarrisMP’ joined in, buying in for a short stack of only $20,000. With the two Full Tilt Pros at the table being the two big winners, Cole South and Richard Ashby seemed to tighten their game and let the other three players pick up a few smaller pots. South left the game shortly after, leaving it four handed. The shorter stacks got it on, however, when they got all the money in on the following hand, with ‘tsarrast’ topping ‘HarrisMP.’

Ashby 3

‘KObyTAPOUT’ wont he final hand of the evening by leading out for over $4k in a heads up pot against ‘Richard Ashby.’

Ashby 4

Throughout the night, it seemed as though ‘theASHMAN103,’ Cole South, and Richard Ashby seemed to be the winners on the night, all taking home prizes of over $50,000.
