The Full Tilt red pros were out in force today with Johan Brolenius finishing as the high man on the totem pole in 121st. Berry Johnston finished in 126th. Mich_alumni took a sizable chip lead into the final table with nearly 5 Million chips. The next closest was only at 2.2 Million. This is how the final nine players stacked up at the start of final table action:

Zsunset 524,116

ypma 1,729,984

clotilda 1,764,442

mich_alumni 4,949,117

quivan96 151,860

kenneoin 944,057

ADCampbell 2,224,032

PatrickJ89 21,475

shhhant 122,917

PatrickJ89 9th

PatrickJ89 was the first player eliminated. He called a pre-flop raise from zsunset and was all-in with Qc-2s against the Ah-Jh of zsunset. The hand was all but over on the flop as zsunset flopped a straight. PatrickJ89 had a chance for a chop when a jack fell on the turn, but the river 4h sealed his fate and sent him home in 9th place.

shhhant 8th

Shhhant did not believe ADCampbell when he moved all-in for 4.6 Million from the button Shhhant had only 267k and ran with Ad-5h against ADCampbell’s pocket threes. The three’s held and Shhhant won’t be winning this one, as he is eliminated in 8th.

quivan96 7th

Quivan96 shoved pre-flop with pocket 10’s and was called by ADCampbell with pocket kings. A ten did not hit the board, and Quivan96 finished in 7th.

kenneoin 6th

Kenneoin open shoved from the cutoff with As-Qh and was called by clotilda with pocket sixes. The sixes held and kenneoin finished in 6th.

zsunset 5th

The very next hand, ADCampbell raised from the cutoff enough to put zsunset all-in. Zsunset made the call with Kc-Jc and was dominated by ADCampbell’s Ac-Jd. ADCampbell flopped trips and avoided a broadway draw to send zsunset to the rail in 5th.

A deal was hammered out by the four remaining players. A deal was made between the remaining players and $10,000 was left on top for winner take all.

clotilda 4th

Ypma raised from the small blind enough to put clotilda all-in and clotilda called with As-4d. He was ahead of the Ks-10d of ypma. The flop brought a king and the turn a 10 to eliminate clotilda in 4th.

mich_alumni eliminated in 3rd

Mich_alumni was our third place finisher. After making a sizable bet on the flop, mich_alumni moved all-in for 2.5 Million on a board of 9c-2s-6h-3c. Ypma made the call. Mich_alumni held pocket kings and was drawing dead when ypma flipped over 4s-5s. The river 7s just rubbed the salt in the wound of our third place finisher.

ADCampbell Wins Full Tilt 750k

The final hand of the event saw all the chip go in pre-flop with ADCampbell holding pocket sevens against the pocket fives of ypma. The board missed both players and ADCampbell is the champion.

After the deal, here are how the final four players finished:

ADCampbell $104,929.51

Ypma $62,660

mich_alumni $98,967

clotilda $72,000

Our final four players played a fantastic game and in the end ADCampbell took it down for the win. The players will be back next week to take their shot at huge prize pools and glory. We will see you then.

Marc Karam and Tom Dwan get ripped off by Eurolinx

Posted by Poker Videos on August 29th, 2009

Marc Karam is a former Eurolinx pro who was sponsored for 3 years by the site. Eurolinx went out of business August 20th as it was shut down by the MicroGaming network that runs its software. Marc Karam states that he was a pro there and an affiliate making 100% Rakeback and up to 20k a month from affiliate referrals. As Eurolinx was suffering, the owner Jo Remme asked Marc Karam to borrow $200,000 for advertising. Marc was doing very well at the time and had over $1,000,000 in his account and reluctantly agreed to lend them $200,000.

Following is from Two Plus Two forums:
I had over $1MM at one point before that in my Eurolinx account and things were going well for me. I wasn’t too keen on the idea of lending money, so since I wasn’t getting paid tourneys anymore, he offered to completely cover the costs of launching my own “white label” skin for my brand (mystpoker.com), with me keeping all of my referred players, and taking 25% of my net profit for running the site. He told me the site would be up and running in three to four months. A few months earlier, I was contemplating buying a decent piece of Eurolinx, but I didn’t like the fact that I wouldn’t have control of anything.

Sadly the site shut down and is being liquidated. Marc is unlikely to see his money that was in his account or even get the money he lent the company. The total money he had in his account is unknown at this point.

Message from Eurolinx.com
Eurolinx closes down

Tom Dwan aka Durrrr chimed in on the thread stating that he was also owed 183k.

durrrr ripped off

So I’m estimating that the site ripped off players in excess of at least $1 million dollars and probably over $2 million. This is just a hypothesis and not actual factual data. It’s based on Marc losing 1 million, Durrrr 183k, and others who are posting in the forum.

This is one of the reasons I only play poker on the largest poker sites. You risk your bankroll when you deposit money on to these skins of Microgaming and other networks. These players will never see their money again because the shady owner of Eurolinx.com probably has spent most of it and has hidden the rest.

Di Dang Vs Gus Hansen Aug 2009

Posted by Poker Videos on August 28th, 2009

Di Dang aka urindanger heard that Gus Hansen was giving away money. As a result, he decided to become the First National Bank of Gus and took his shots at Hansen in a couple $300-$600 PLO tables and a $200 – $400 PLO table.

Dang takes Hansen's stack

First, on the High Bluff $300-$600 PLO table, Dang took Hansen’s first buy-in to the tune of a $62,195 pot. Hansen moved in with top pair and a flush draw. Dang flopped two pair and had a gutshot straight draw. Dang hit his draw to take down the pot.

It only took 3 hands to take another buy-in off Hansen. All of the money went in on the flop with Hansen having flopped two pair and Dang holding a flush draw and pair of fives. Dang made trips on the turn and filled up on the river to take another 30k off Hansen.

While this was going on, the two tangled on the Crazy Action $300-$600 table. As was the case on the other table, Dang was taking buy-ins here too. The first came after Hansen shoved with a pair of aces and w-in from Hansen.

Hansen then dropped his next buy-in on the very next hand. Granted, this time he was ahead after the flop. He shoved with a gutshot straight draw, a flush draw and a pair. Dang called with a wrap straight draw. Dang hit his draw on the river to take another buy-in off Hansen.

Hansen would win about $24k back from Dang before leaving the table, but it did not make up for the $120k in buy-ins already lost prior.

Phil Gafond aka OMGClayAiken also decided to hop onto the Gus Hansen money train. He took a $34k pot off Hansen after picking off a river bluff from Hansen.

Patrik Antonius Yum Yum

However, the big hand of the day went to Patrik Antonius. On the Big Dipper $200-$400 PLO table, Antonius received a $78k gift from Hansen. All the money went in on the turn with Hansen holding a wheel draw, flush draw and a pair of aces. Antonius already held a straight and held his own flush draw. A heart on the river gave Antonius a flush and a $158,542.50 pot. Now let’s hope he doesn’t turn around and give it over to durrrr later.

Gus Hansen very well may have to change his nickname to the “poker philanthropist” with all the money he has given away today.

High Stakes Poker $400-$800 and 7 Game tables

Posted by Poker Videos on August 27th, 2009

While the Durrrr Challenge participants took a break from action today, the $400-$800 and $1,000 – $2,000 7 Game tables were hopping today over at Full Tilt Poker.

CrazyMarco 16k Pot

Mike Matusow moved all-in for $3,409 with a wrap and a flush draw and was against the made straight of CrazyMarco. Matusow couldn’t hit his flush and Johnson took a nice $16,267 pot.

CrazyMarco takes an 18k pot

Later on, Johnson took a $19,483 pot off Nick Shulman. All the money went in on the flop with Shulman holding a set and a flush draw. Johnson flopped a straight, but had no redraw. The flush didn’t come, nor did the board pair, and Shulman was forced to reload.

Da Munsta takes a 13k Pot

A while later, Shulman would take off and some more players would join the action. The table eventually filled up with thecranium being among those in contention. The next scooped pot of size at this table was again during PLO. Da Munsta moved in on the flop with a pair of aces only and was called by thecranium with only a pair of jacks. The aces held to give Da Munsta a $13k pot.

Eli Elezra Queesn Full

CrazyMarco took another $16k pot off PokerGodZeus. Johnson put him in with a Royal Flush draw and top pair. PokerGodZeus held the same top pair and only a broadway draw. Johnson made a flush and took down the pot.
David Grey and Eli Elezra later took a seat at the table. Elezra took a $10,000 pot of thecranium when he rivered queens-full.

Big 3 Way Pot

Mike Matusow seemed to be CrazyMarco’s favorite whipping boy today. He took a $13,717 pot off of him during a NL Holdem round where Matusow decided to shove with A-K suited. Johnson called with pocket nines and they held to seal the win.
Gus Hansen joined the fray and later a huge $67,000 pot developed between Hansen, CrazyMarco, and Mark Vos. In a NL Holdem round, Mark Vos shoved all-in for $3,957. Hansen then reshoved for $31,594.50. CrazyMarco made the call with pocket aces. Hansen was behind with pocket queens and Vos was third best with pocket tens. Vos would flop a miracle when a ten hit the flop to give him a set of 10’s. The turn fell a four and river pair the board to give Vos the main pot of $11,968 with a full house. However, CrazyMarco took the $55,275 with aces-up against the queens-up of Hansen.

CrazyMarco finished the day up over $100,000 on this table.

Matusow finally wins a pot

Hansen loses another all-in

Mike Matusow didn’t have a good time against CrazyMarco, but he did a little better on the Wren $400-$800 7 Game. He took a $23k pot of his own off of thecranium after turning the nut straight and picking up a flush draw. Thecranium had a better flush draw and a wheel draw. The river paired the board and Matusow finally picked up a decent pot.
CrazyMarco, Gus Hansen, and Nizot Shizared joined this table for a while, but their stay was a little too much for Hansen. Hansen put his entire stack in on top pair and a gutshot draw against the flopped two pair of Nizot Skizared. The turn fell to give Hansen his gutshot but Skizared picked up a flush draw to go with his two pair. The river paired the board to give Skizared a full house and a $25,391 pot.

Nizot Skizared started this table with only $10k and finished the table with around $45k. A nice $35k win.

Another buy-in gone for Hansen

As stated earlier, the $1,000 – $2,000 7 Game tables were also hopping. Gus Hansen and thecranium went at it heads-up for a while with the stacking Hansen during a PLO round. Hansen moved all-in with only naked aces and ran into a set of sixes. Another $25k gone.

Richard Ashby Receives a Gus Hansen Buy-in

A while later, Richard Ashby joined the action and Gus finally gained a bit of traction. He won or split 11 out 13 pots during Omaha Hi-Low to build his stack up to around $100,000. The largest amount that he took during one of these pots was a pot where he took 3/4 from thecranium. He turned the 2nd nut low and rivered a full house. Thecranium only held the 2nd nut low for 1/3rd of the pot.
Hansen finished the table with almost $100,000 but at best his profit was only $50,000.
Richard Ashby took a nice win on Eli Elezra’s table. He finished the day up around $40,000. He was up almost $75,000 but gave away most of it at the end of his playing day. In regards to action, this table saw a lot of pot over $10,000. Of course, the biggest pot of the day was the result of yet another all-in loss by Gus Hansen. Gus Hansen moved all-in on the flop with top pair and a straight draw and Ashby called with the nut straight. The turn left Hansen drawing dead and Ashby took down a $46,127 pot.

The theme of today’s high stakes action was Christmas with Gus Hansen playing the role of Santa Claus. His opponents were happy to see Gus today and was happy to receive his gifts of buy-ins.
