334 players entered the £10,000 buy in 2009 WSOPE main event. The event is down the the final 9 players and it is an incredible line up. Well, most likely it was going to be pretty tough table being that mostly pros entered the event. Two of the WSOPE final table players are from the 2009 WSOP November 9! James Akenhead and Antoine Saout both have made it to the final table! This is an amazing poker accomplishment and congrats to the both of them. Jason Mercier is leading the pack with over 3 million in chips.

Final table of the 2009 WSOPE Main Event
Seat 1: Barry Shulman – 1,090,000
Seat 2: Jason Mercier – 3,198,000
Seat 3: Praz Bansi – 1,160,000
Seat 4: Markus Ristola – 784,000
Seat 5: Chris Bjorin – 518,000
Seat 6: James Akenhead – 1,398,000
Seat 7: Daniel Negreanu – 438,000
Seat 8: Antoine Saout – 701,000
Seat 9: Matt Hawrilenko – 674,000

Daniel Negreanu has made it too (despite his dispute with Men the Master). Matt Hawrilenko is on a super hot streak so don’t count him out with his short stack. Please note the father of one of the Final 9 made it too. Barry Shulman is father of Jeff Shulman and they own Cardplayer Magazine together. Chris Bjorin is no joke with over 3 million in winnings and hes on his home territory, he has bracelets, and he has final table experience. Barry has 1.5 million in tourny winnings and a bracelet. Praz Bansi could be a dark horse if he doubles up from one of the large stacks early. I really think its going to come down to early races amongst the short stacks and weather Jason get unlucky or runs bad. Markus Ristola is the least likely to win and has the least amount of tournament experience. If I had to pick, I would have to put my money on one of the two larger stacks of either Jason Mercier or James Akenhead to win it.

want2bedomnated wins the Full Tilt Sunday 750k

Posted by Poker Videos on September 28th, 2009

The Full Tilt Poker Sunday 750k drew a strong crowd this week of 4,008 players. The prize pool for the event was $801,600. First would receive $141,554.54 with 585 players paid. The Full Tilt red pros didn’t really flock to this one. Many of the bigger names were visibly absent. This may be due to the WSOP Europe but we are not certain. Only two pros cashed in the event. Berry Johnston finished in 511th and Hans Vogl finished in 217th. “Anna Rexic” and Scott Neuman “kickyourace” were the only other notables making a strong run at the final table, finishing 66th and 64th respectively.
AmazingMiss entered the final table with the chip lead but CiderSipper was not far behind. This is how the final nine started final table play:

CooLJohN22222 1,334,095

goodvibe 479,864

cataron 1,892,903

colsha 1,898,768

StickyIckyEarl 185,196

The Good Life11 417,290

AmazingMiss 2,570,134

CiderSipper 2,242,390

want2bedomnated 1,003,360

StickyIckyEarl 9th
StickyIckyEarl was the first eliminated from this final table. He open shoved for 165,196 and was called by AmazingMiss. It was Ks-Jd against the Ac-10s for AmazingMiss. A ten hit the flop, meaning that StickyIckyEarly had to make a pair to win. The turn and river were both blanks and StickyIckyEarl was the first final table casualty.

Goodvibe bid the final table goodbye in 7th place. Cataron min-raised to 80,000 under-the-gun and AmazingMiss re-raised to 320,000. Goodvibe then moved all-in for 364,864 and both opponents made the call. The board was checked to the river. At the river, the board read 5h-Jh-7s-3h-9c and cataron bet out 280,000. AmazingMiss made the call and mucked when cataron showed Ah-Qh for the nut flush. Goodvibe mucked as well and hit the rail in 8th place.

CiderSipper 7th

CiderSipper started the final table 2nd in chips but must have been drinking something other than cider as he bled chips off to where he was left with just under 200,000. He open shoved for 188,795 and was called by both colsha and AmazingMiss. The flop of Qc-Qs-4c was checked around. The turn fell the 5c and AmazingMiss bet out 100,000. Colsha folded and CiderSipper discovered his Ks-Js was drawing dead to the Qh-10d and the trips of AmazingMiss. The river fell the 10s to give AmazingMiss the overkill full-house and send CiderSipper home in 7th.

The Good Life11 6th

The Good Life11 was the next player eliminated. CoolJohN22222 raised to 122,899 and both cataron and The Good Life11 called. On a flop of Ac-7c-9d, action was checked to The Good Life11, who bet 222,000. CooLJohN22222 then raised all-in for 1.2 Million. Cataron got out of the way and The Good Life11 made the call. CoolJohN22222 held As-7d for two pair and The Good Life11 held Ah-Kc for top pair only. The turn and river both fell babies, and The Good Life11 finished in 6th.

colsha 5th

A few hands later, want2bedomnated raised to 200,000 and was called by colsha. On a flop of Qs-9s-8h, colsha shoved with Ah-8d and was called by want2bedomnated with pocket jack. The turn and river both fell blanks and colsha finished in 5th.

Deal

A deal was discussed briefly, but AmazingMiss did not like the terms as he would only get $10,000 more. Although he was the short stack, he felt he deserved more. A couple of hands later, he doubled up and then “wanted to deal.” After a while, the players agreed to an even chop of the prize money, although AmazingMiss had half the chips. It is unknown whether the players really needed the money or what, but this was one horrible deal.
CooLJohN22222 4th

The last $9,000 was to be played out via winner takes all. With only the winner receiving any money, players started taking stupid risks. Want2bedomnated was the one dominating CooLJohN22222 as he decided to shove with K-J. Want2bedomnated held As-Kh. A flush draw came by the turn but want2bedomnated had the best of that too. CooLJohN22222 finished in 4th place.
A few hands later, want2bedomnated revealed a little information that may have been a bit of a clue why he accepted such a bad deal. He revealed that he had made a $50 deposit just two weeks prior. Knowing that information, this is a helluva return on his initial investment, even if it is a very poor deal.

cataron 3rd

On a flop of 6c-5s-3s, cataron moved all-in with 7c-8c and was behind to the Ks-Qc of want2bedomnated. The turn gave cataron a flush draw as well but the river 3d sent him home in 3rd place with no additional money.

want2bedomnated wins Full Tilt Sunday 750k

The final hand of the event saw AmazingMiss move all-in with pocket kings against the Ah-2c of want2bedomnated. A deuce hit both the flop and the river and with that suckout, want2bedomnated wins the Full Tilt Sunday 750k.

After receiving the prize money for winner takes all, want2bedomnated took home $89,229.08. While that is a great return on his initial $50 deposit, one wonders whether he should have given up the $50,000 in order to appease AmazingMiss. Regardless, want2bedomnated played a fantastic tournament and deserved the win. Congratulations.
