Posted by Poker Videos on November 8th, 2009

Full Tilt Poker has announced its newest addition to its stable of red pros. Tom Dwan aka “durrrr” is the newest addition to a list of professionals that includes Phil Ivey, Allen Cunningham, Jennifer Harman, and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson.

Dwan started playing poker at the age of 15 when he used to grind in low-limit sit and go’s and cash games. He developed his nickname durrrr as a way to put his opponents on tilt. Pretty soon, low stakes sit and go’s were not enough for Dwan and he started his ascent up the limits. Eventually, he would become a staple in the high stakes games on Full Tilt. Dwan can be regularly found at the $500 – $1,000 NL games and PLO games from $100 – $200 and up.

Will Tom Dwan play in FTOPS XIV?

Dwan is also a regular featured player on various poker shows, including Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, and the NBC National Heads-Up Championship. He has also been featured on Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Game. Recently, Dwan took down a pot worth $1.1 Million on the show, the largest pot in the history of televised poker. Dwan also holds the record for the largest pot on High Stakes Poker, taking down a pot worth over $900,000 from Barry Greenstein.

Dwan also has proven himself to be quite a tournament player. He cashed in his first ever professional tournament and has over $1 Million in tournament earnings. He has two WPT final tables, and a final table appearance at both the World Series of Poker and Aussie Millions. His most recent cash was 14th in the PL Omaha event at the World Series of Poker Europe.
Dwan is the youngest pro on the Full Tilt roster at 23 years of age. Howard Lederer said the following regarding Dwan’s signing: “Team Full Tilt doesn’t take adding a team member lightly. But, Tom Dwan has proven, through skill and dynamic play, that he will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come. We are proud to count Tom as one of our own.”
The signing of Dwan to Full Tilt should come as no surprise with all the publicity the site has received in connection to the Million Dollar Challenge or Durrrr Challenge event between Dwan and Patrik Antonius. Also, with Dwan’s massive following, it makes sense that Full Tilt would put their logo on his chest.
Two new websites will be dedicated to the new Full Tilt pro. Both durrrr.com and tomdwan.com will both provide news, updates, and information on the newest member of Team Full Tilt. It appears that he may even be blogging in the future on the Durrrr Blog. You can view the complete Tom Dwan bio here.

Joe Cada VS Darvin Moon heads up for the Championship bracelet

Posted by Poker Videos on November 8th, 2009

Joe Cada VS Darvin Moon

Play will resume Monday evening at 1 am eastern time. Joe Cada and Darvin Moon will play heads up for the WSOP main event bracelet. Joe Cada has a stack of 135,950,000 vs Darvin Moon chip count of 58,850,000. Darvin and Joe both made some questionable plays and or sucked out to be the final 2. However, you do have to get lucky sometimes to win a tournament that big and maybe Moon’s fold for 6 million more enabled him to be where he is at. I’m not defending the fold, just saying if he lost the other 6 million, maybe he wouldn’t be there. Poker is a sick game at these levels, and people sometimes make irrational decisions. Darvin had 2 3 outers, both with AQ’s that were dominated. Joe also made a bad move with 33 and was down to 1 million in chips, making it one of the all time greatest comebacks in poker history.

Phil Ivey Eliminated from World Series of Poker

Phil Ivey pushes all in AK under the gun and gets called by Moon with AQ. Moon spikes a queen on flop and Ivey doesn’t improve. It’s a very sad day for me and I’ve watched Ivey walking a thin tight rope for 12 hours only to lose to a bad beat for all his chips.
