Today we will take a look at the five best H.O.R.S.E. poker players in the world. This takes into account both cash game and tournament action.

1. Phil Ivey
Whether it is live or online, clearly the best H.O.R.S.E. player on the planet is Phil Ivey. Considered by many the best all-around poker player on the planet, Ivey consistently crushes H.O.R.S.E. and other mixed games live and online.
Phil has three WSOP final tables in H.O.R.S.E., including finishing 3rd in the inaugural $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event in 2006. He also cashed in the same event in 2008. Ivey also has a bracelet in SHOE, which is H.O.R.S.E. minus razz.

Ivey is also one of the most consistent, if not the most consistent online H.O.R.S.E. player in history. This year alone, Ivey has won $1.9 Million in the high stakes H.O.R.S.E. games on Full Tilt poker. The next closest players has only won $1.4 Million.

Also, we cannot forget the Millions that Ivey has won inside Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio. Phil can pretty much do it all when it comes to H.O.R.S.E..

Doyle Brunson Image
2. Doyle Brunson
Although he doesn’t play a lot of H.O.R.S.E. online, when it comes to live playing H.O.R.S.E. live, there aren’t many that can hang like Doyle. For decades, Doyle Brunson has been winning consistently at the high stakes live games in Vegas. Whether they were downtown at the Nugget, over at the now defunct Sands, or now at the Bellagio, if there is a high stakes mixed game, Doyle is there.

Doyle has also had his share of tournament success with H.O.R.S.E.. He took the $2,000 H.O.R.S.E. bracelet in 2003. In 2006, he was among those that made the final table of the first $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. He also cashed in the even in 2008. Brunson also has bracelets in Razz, Stud, and Stud 8 or Better. He also is the “Godfather of Holdem.” About the only game he doesn’t have a bracelet in is Omaha, and he has final tables in that game as well.

Barry Greenstein Image

3. Barry Greenstein
“Bear” is among the greatest mixed game players on the planet but has had most of his success in live events. A regular staple of Bobby’s Room in Las Vegas, Greenstein has battled among the best and brightest and won Millions. Greenstein used to travel around California, playing in the most profitable games and excelling.

Greenstein’s greatest H.O.R.S.E. accomplishment in the tournament world was his 6th place finish in the $50,000 HORSE event at the WSOP in 2008. That same year, Greenstein took his 3rd bracelet in Razz. Greenstein plays all games well and is a force whenever he is at the table.
David Singer Image

4. David Singer
Singer is a solid H.O.R.S.E. player that has had a lot of live success in the game, especially in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. Singer made the final table of both the 2006 and 2007 WSOP $50k HORSE event, and both times finished in 6th place. In 2006, Singer also finished 6th in a major online H.O.R.S.E. event, giving him 3 high profile finishes in the game that year.
Singer also finished deep in two HORSE events at the WSOP in 2009, finishing 37th in Event #21 and 41st in Event #31. Singer also player some high stakes HORSE on Full Tilt. He is currently 43rd in the world in HORSE among high stakes players on Full Tilt.

Patrik Antonius

5. Patrik Antonius
When you think of H.O.R.S.E., you probably don’t think of Patrik Antonius. However, Antonius has proven to be quite the solid H.O.R.S.E. player. He made the final table of the 2006 WSOP $50,000 HORSE event where he finished in 9th.
Most of Antonius’ success in the game has been online. This year alone, Antonius has won $1.2 Million in over 1,319 Session of HORSE online. Nobody else on the planet has won as much and played as many sessions. If Antonius could improve his tournament HORSE game a bit, he could potentially move up higher on this list.
