Ilari Sahamies posts 300k win in High Stakes Pot Limit Omaha
Poker February 4th, 2010For the first time in weeks, the big game on Full Tilt Poker was not the popular 7-Game. Instead, the high stakes action was in Pot Limit Omaha. Three high stakes pros took to the online felt at $300/$600 stakes. Patrik Antonius and Cole South were joined by Ilari Sahamies aka Ziigmund. Sahamies was the obvious winner going into the action, over $600,000 on one table and $400,000 on the other. The first big hand of the afternoon was won by Sahamies with a bet from Antonius on the river.
Antonius returned the favor to Cole South with his own uncalled river bet.
Cole South took down a massive pot in this hand. All the money got in on the turn, and South’s full house held up to win a pot worth over $225,000.
Cole South made a massive four bet and was called by both opponents in this hand. South shoved the flop, Antonius called, and South won the pot for over $140,000.
Antonius got it all back and then some, winning this pot from Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies for over a quarter of a million dollars.
‘Ziigmund’ got some money back when he took this pot from Cole South.
Cole South used a bet of over $35,000 to win a bot of worth over $40,000 from ‘Ziigmund.’
Antonius won a pot of over $40,000 with a pot sized river bet on this hand.
Cole South won a massive pot in this hand. While Ziigmund flopped top set, South turned a straight, and had the best of it when all the money went in, winning a pot worth over $250,000.
For the last hand of the day, ‘Ziigmund’ made a bet of over $120,000 on the turn in a massive pot with Cole South. South laid it down, giving ‘Ziigmund’ the hand.
On the session, big pots allowed both Patrik Antonius and Cole South to cut into the huge stacks of Sahamies, although Sahamies was still up to the tune of about $300,000.
