EPT Berlin robbed by 6 men with assault rifles
Poker, Poker News March 6th, 2010EPT Berlin stop has just been robbed by six gunmen with sub machine guns, knives, and possibly assault rifles (conflicting stories floating around social media). The robbery occurred at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin. It is alleged that they have made off with less than a million Euros from the poker tournament. One of the guards was injured trying to capture one of the robbers. It seems everyone is okay except for the guard who was injured in the head. Panic and chaos ensued throughout the tournament as seen in the video below.

EPT Statement
“There has been an armed robbery today at the EPT Berlin. No one is hurt seriously. We hope to be able to determine the tournament record by 16 clock time again. The police. If you have photos or video recordings that can assist the police, then please contact as soon as the organizers of the EPT. “
In my opinion, the tournament should be delayed until tomorrow. Apparently they are going to resume play today. I find it hard to believe that the poker players can be expected to resume play after a traumatic experience like this. Some of the players most likely thought it was a terrorist attack and scrambled to take cover.

Reports also say that the tournament director’s wife was held at gunpoint. Thomas Kremser and his wife Marina Rado in picture below. Thomas is on the left.
