He was up $1.5 Million on Tuesday, but those winnings didn’t last long. He proceeded to drop every penny of his winnings, and then another $300,000 as he finished down $1.8 Million on Wednesday.
Tom Dwan screen name Durrrr finally was able to get some of his losses back from Isildur1. The two largest pots of an 888 hand session went to durrrr. In the first hand, the pot was $32,400 on a flop of Ks-4c-7c. Isildur1 check called a bet of $22,200 from durrrr. The turn fell the Jd. Isildur1 checked to durrrr, who bet $76,800. Enter Phil Galfond “OMGClayAiken”. Last year, Galfond had stated that he would walk away from nosebleed stakes. However, the prospect of taking all that yummy Isildur1 money was too much for Galfond to resist. The result was Galfond’s best day ever on the virtual felt.
Isildur1 dropped over $750,000 over the course of two hands to Galfond. In the first hand, the pot was $54,000 when the flop fell 10h-10c-7h. Action was checked around and the turn fell the 6c. Isildur1 bet $54,000 and Galfond moved all-in for $169,494.50. Isildur1 called and showed Qh-5h-8d-4d for a sucker straight draw and flush draw. Galfond showed Qd-Jd-9h-8c for the nut straight. The river fell the Jc and Galfond took the $392,988.50 pot.
The 2nd massive pot between the two started with only $18,000 in the pot on a flop of 8h-7s-2c. Isildur1 bet pot and Galfond called. The turn 7c was checked around to bring the river Jc. Isildur1 checked to Galfond, who bet out $38,000. Isildur1 raised pot to make it $168,000 and Galfond made the call. Isildur1 was betting on nearly air as he showed Ac-Kh-Js-9s for top pair. Galfond showed Kc-8c-As-10d for a flush, and he took down the $390,000 pot.
Galfond continued his hot streak and at the completion of the 4,200 hand session, Galfond was up $1.8 Million on Isildur1. This gave Galfond his best single day online in his career. This prompted Galfond to post a nice little blog with a chart of his session called “Wait, why did I ever stop nosebleeds?”
Isildur1 made up some of his losses an only finished down the $1.8 Million he lost to Galfond for the day. At present, Isildur1 is down a sickening $1.3 Million overall. Many railbirds have said that perhaps Isildur1 should stick with NL Holdem and stay away from PL Omaha. Of course, the odds of that happening are about the same as Phil Hellmuth winning the $50,000 Player’s Championship at the WSOP. (Daniel Negreanu put the odds at 800 to 1.) One thing that is a sure bet is that Isildur1 will be back on Full Tilt Poker shortly taking on the nosebleeds and continuing his epic swings.
