This time, both the big time 7-Game as well as the high stakes Pot Limit Omaha games went off between some of the best in the business. David Oppenheim, Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan screen name ‘durrrr’, and Brian Townsend all sat down to take place in some of these huge games.
Right off the bat, a pot worth over $20,000 was decided in the 7-Game when Gus Hansen used a pair of fours to take this pot from Tom Dwan see images below:
Hansen took another pot from Dwan, again in the Stud Hi game. This time, Hansen picked up a pair of shown aces on fifth street and used them to take this pot from Dwan.
Tom Dwan got revenge in this hand. Again in the Stud round, Dwan used two kings to take this $17,000 hand.
Tom Dwan used an all in shove to get some of his money back from Gus Hansen in this hand.
Tom Dwan sucked a spade out on the river to defeat Gus Hansen’s top set to win this $20,000 hand.
A big three way all in took place in the next hand. Hansen turned the nut flush and used it to win this $40,000 from both Di ‘Urindanger’ Dang and Tom Dwan.
Gus Hansen has been known to do some unusual things while playing poker. This was no different. With a pot of $14,000, Hansen moved all in for an additional $65,000. Oppenheim pondered, and then folded, giving Hansen the hand.
Dwan got there again on this hand. After getting it in on the flop, Dwan hit another spade on the river to win this $28,000 hand.
A massive pot brewed between Hansen and Dwan in this hand. After getting it all in preflop, Hansen’s aces were far ahead. He didn’t hold, however, as Dwan flopped three queens to take this $56,000 pot.
Hansen and Oppenheim were chatting all day, with Oppenheim claiming Gus was only able to sit in the game because his ‘friends bailed him out.’ Hansen took it to him in this hand, however, winning this pot worth $70,000.
On the day, even after a few bad beats, Gus Hansen was a winner on the session, worth more than $50,000. Dwan was bailed out in a few situations, and took it to a win of over $25,000. David Oppenheim took the big hit as the day’s big loser.
