2010 WSOP Update Tournament of Champions and more

The 2010 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions is a million dollar freeroll for the most respected names in poker. I really don’t understand this payout structure:
1st $500,000
2nd $250,000
3rd $100,000
4th – 9th $25,000
What’s up with the 4-9 $25k prize? I think 1-4 is enough for a freeroll. Anyways, just thought I’d point that out. Mike Matusow leads the TOC with 85k in chips followed by Huck Seed and Johnny Chan.
