John Racener is an American professional poker player born in 1985 in Dunedin Florida. Racener is one of the final nine in the 2010 World Series of Poker. The 24 year old Racener is well known for his polarizing spiky hair, making you wonder if he ever left the eighties at all. John Racener goes by $JMONEY$ in the online poker world and his favorite player is “The Grinder” Michael Mizrachi, whom he will be competing with November 9.

John Racener is a self taught player and had immediate success at the age of 21, it was on that birthday he cashed in at Harrah’s Atlantic City, “Spikey” another moniker finished 3rd in the Championship event in 2009. John Racener was $103,527 dollars richer and definitely a birthday to remember. John Racener would disclose that “I don’t work” and I just play poker, so the win was a life changer for Racener.

John Racener’s early good times would continue, he caught fire with 10 cashes and finishing 8th in the Borgata Winter Open/WPT Event taking home $166,161, for a self taught player just 4 short years ago he had asserted himself quite well. John Racener stormed Atlantic City like a hurricane smells properties, he made it his place to play. John Racener’s most memorable win was in 2007 at the World Series of Poker Circuit Championship Event, taking home $379,000 his dream of not working and just living off poker was now a reality.

Still entering this year’s 2010 World Series of Poker, Racener was still not considered a favorite to make it to the final table, on some levels he was still an unproven talent who played online with his 3rd place finish in the Full Tilt Poker’s $750,00 Guaranteed in April 2009 for $54,000 in his back pocket, and early on success not enough to label him a threat.

John Racener enters a table at the Rio in Las Vegas as one of the many surprises to make it there, he will take his seat with 19.05 million the 4th largest stack. The question now is can John Racener complete his run, can he do it staring at the “Grinder” sitting at the same table whom he has said to be his favorite.

John Racener his a little over three months to prepare for what could be his first bracelet and the cash that goes with it. He lives in Port Richey Florida, but will he just simply stay at home and play online or will he do a combination of table play and perhaps work with a seasoned pro?

John Racener’s lifetime stats include $1,730,585 in earnings, 79 career cashes and 3 titles.
