But you wouldn’t see Shak sporting such wares at the poker tournaments. Gone are the party dresses, out come the hoodies and baseball caps. With the changed wardrobe, seated in her position, Shak’s face takes on an intensity rivaling a warrior going into battle, tossing aside her signature seductive smile.
Her style and attitude has won her many admirers… and many detractors. It is not hard to see why. For somebody who has started playing poker at age 36, Shak has taken the poker world by storm with impressive performance at the 36th World Series of Poker Ladies Only event in 2005 after playing professionally for a year. This and other competitive displays resulted in a sponsorship deal by Full Tilt Poker.

It is true that she hasn’t scored big since 2007. It stands to reason that it is because of her lack of poker credentials that Two plus Two poker forum is one of the strongest of her detractors. Her ex-husband, Daniel Shak, has a more serious poker record, having finished first and second in several tournaments (over 1 million in winnings). Still her flair and flamboyance assures that she garners more buzz in the poker world than players with higher rankings.

Shak is quite capable of taking the bull by the horns. In addition to curating her vast closet space, she is an active business woman and philanthropist. It’s no surprise that a current project is, you guessed it, Shoesareforever.com. Like her beloved Loubotins, Shak is complex and full of expertise.
