Bridging the Realism Gap with Online Poker Just Like Being at the Casino

Bridging the Realism Gap with Online Poker Just Like Being at the Casino

Online Poker is uniquely positioned to be the highest growth computer game over the next decade. Now, the emergence of the crucial interpersonal elements at work in live casino play promise to make the online game an unstoppable force well into the next decade and likely beyond. Basically, the cutting edge versions of free online poker with Face Up technology will allow for a player to actually read opponents physical movements and body language.

No longer will online poker be in essence a different form of the casino game, but rather will become a more convenient version of it. Moreover, even online poker tournaments are getting more popular than off-line ones.

In the last few years, the total revenue generated worldwide by online poker sites has eclipsed 1 billion dollars on an annual basis. With still a great many people in the world yet to get online access, and poker shooting upwards in popularity as both a participation and spectator sport, there promises to be much more excitement for the players and sellers of the online game.

One of the persistent criticisms of online poker by some players through the last decade, was that it still felt completely cut off from the casino driven essence of the game. That is, the ability to view your opponent in person has always created the allure of real energy and guile being traded in a subtle cat and mouse game.

Many players who came up playing exclusively off-line, and then play online, miss the necessity to read body language, cues, and physical tendencies. Online poker doesn’t lose the analytical
and you might say, odds-dictated aspect of the offline game. But many have said that it is limited to a very robotic and for lack of a better word: computerized skill set needed to excel.

As noted in a recent feature on the online game: Online players are required to focus more on betting patterns, reaction time, speed of play, and elements of opponents’ fold/flop percentages, rather than physical reading of opponents’ facial cues, twitches, and even breathing patterns.

By some estimates, online poker has brought millions and millions of new players to the game over the last decade by taking away the intimidation of the casino environment and the large percentage of more experienced players found there. Using the online game, players can learn at their own pace with players of varying experience, and do it anonymously without any embarrassment or shame.

Still, it might have been the movie “Rounders” where it was said, “if after 20 minutes, you don’t know who the sucker at the table is, it is you.” The game of poker is at it’s best when you can marry the analytical skill aspect with the almost super human power of reading and understanding people and tendencies.

Emerging online versions known as Face Up gaming offer the convenience of online, with the most realistic version of the game as it was always intended to be played: face to face requiring the full arsenal of skills from each player.

Play Bingo until poker is legalized?

Play Bingo until poker is legalized?

Or much longer afterwards?

Since “Black Friday” many online poker players are looking for things to do. Some players on Two Plus Two seem like they are suffering from withdraw to say the least. Many people like me are resorting to Modern Warfare 3 but that game gets really irritating after a while. My sister brought up the fact that she wanted to play bingo online, so I started to research it. Bingo is starting to give poker a run for it’s money… Literally! In fact, Bingo is the fastest growing sector in the online gaming industry (Igaming). Bingo grew by 28% in 2010 bringing in a total of close to $3 Billion dollars. I believe that the influx of bingo players is coming from women and people in their late 20’s and beyond. Research shows that these new Bingo sign-ups prefer bingo to poker because they have a winning chance. People who like casino games quickly become tired of poker when they are losing player, especially when have other players berate them for their lack luster plays. With bingo, this demographic has a real chance at winning money, and if they don’t win, they aren’t going to lose the mortgage payment. This demographic is also using new smart phones like the Android and Iphone. This new technology is adding to the increased traffic of these bingo sites. Although poker gives the user the chance for a bigger score, Bingo is just more fun and has a higher win rate for these players. Of course poker is fun, it’s just that bingo doesn’t cause the anxiety that variance in poker causes.

Online Bingo

Once online gambling is legalized in the United States, be prepared for a huge influx of USA Bingo players. Currently, there are 1000’s of live bingo halls across the United States. There are over 60 million people in the USA that have played bingo for real money. That’s an incredible statistic! Mostly, it is played in Churches, Fire Halls, and other charitable organizations. Tennessee placed a ban on Bingo Halls in 1989 and now it is only allowed in Churches and places that aren’t only in business of profiting from Bingo. Look for Bingo to explode in the United States once the Las Vegas casino cartels have control of the Igaming industry. I think Bingo, Slots, Poker, Video Poker, and other online gambling games are going to cross pollinate each other. I expect social sites like Zynga to become much more involved in bingo and slots adding to the current gold rush.

To conclude, I would like to say that although you won’t see Phil Ivey playing bingo anytime soon but you will see a huge influx of bingo players grinding away daily. I expect older players who have become somewhat tech savvy to leave bingo halls and play online bingo daily . With the increase of real money bingo players, look for huge jackpots, more competition and thus more bingo free money bonuses.

Where can I play real money poker?

Where can I play real money poker?

This is what many players, both novice and pro, are asking these days. Everything is so messed up by country or state. There are so many players that play poker on Zynga a Facebook app and they don’t know where to play poker for real money. Full Tilt Poker is definitely out of the equation. Pokerstars is available for real money play outside of the US and recently acquired licenses in Belgium and Malta. Bovada Poker also offers real money play and simply use Bovada.lv referral number for the best referral number. Party Poker is available outside USA but may return to USA once they align with a casino. In fact, today, Chili Poker announced that it is aligning with the Golden Nugget:

Golden Nugget and Chiligaming are proud to announce that they are entering into an online gaming partnership, with a free-play website due to launch within the next Quarter. Golden Nugget has selected Chiligaming as its exclusive online gaming partner in anticipation of the legalization of online gaming in the United States.

I seriously hate Zynga Poker but feel that it will bring a ton of real money players from both the USA and abroad. There is somewhat of a risk of depositing on USA poker sites. Many on Two Plus Two believe that any site operating in USA could have their bank accounts frozen. I believe that was a possibility before the DOJ reversed their stance on the wire act applying to online poker.

Cake poker is another room that offers real money poker for both USA and abroad. Cake poker was aligned with Doyles Room but that soon collapsed. Doyle Brunson had a good thing going but moved to about 4 different skins and finally got swallowed up by America’s Cardroom.

Yesterday, the owner of Pokertube did an interview with Jungleman12. Jungleman stated that many people have just been playing live. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have the patience to play live poker. It tilts me and I find myself either nitting it up or pushing at real bad times. The rake devestates my roll when I play live. I must also mention that I can never find a game of Omaha Hi Low or Seven Card Stud. I love to play stud poker, and have only had the chance to play live once.

I would really give Bovada Poker a chance. Bovada Poker is formerly known as Bodog. I think you’re in good hands with Calvin Ayre. The website states :

Online poker players outside of the US hoping to register on the new site will be disappointed to learn that Bovada Poker will be operated exclusively for US poker players only

He has a plan and his lawyers have set up this separate company and skin to protect their interests.

Although there are few places to play real money poker in the USA right now, this will soon change. If you are out side the USA your list of places is soon to skyrocket. Good luck at the real money poker rooms!
