Di Dang, Cole South, and Alexander Kostritsyn post wins in Pot Limit Omaha

Posted by Poker Videos on March 4th, 2010

Pot Limit Omaha games have often been the highest stakes poker games found online, and today was no different. Some of the highest stakes players came out to play on five different tables of $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha on Full Tilt Poker, with a $16,000 cap. Di Dang screen name ‘Urindanger’ , Cole South, Alexander Kostrisyn screen name ‘PostflopAction’ , Jani Vilmunen, and ‘NEKOTYAN’ all sat for some of the biggest action found online. Out first hand of the session came when Kostritsyn dodged Vilmunen’s straight draw to take this hand worth more than $35,000.

Jani1

In this hand, aces held up for a big pot for ‘SxMxF.’

Jani2

‘LokoIsBack’ took the next hand, dodging the straight draw of Cole South.

Jani3

Another pot got capped in this hand, where Cole South took a pot from Alexander ‘PostflopAction’ Kostritsyn.

Jani4

Jani Vilmunen lost another capped pot for a large amount of money in this hand, this time to high stakes regular ‘PixKim.’

Jani5

The quick paced action didn’t stop there, as ‘Icre84U’ took this hand from Kostritsyn for over $30,000.

Jani6

Cole South turned the nut flush to win this pot from Di Dang, taking a pot worth more than $30,000.

Jani7

Dang got some revenge on the game, however, winning this big hand from ‘Icre84U.’

Jani8

It is rare to see these games get a pot capped before the flop. It is even rarer to see that happen between three different players, which is exactly what happened in this hand. Alexander Kostritsyn made a flush to take this massive pot worth nearly $50,000.

Jani9

Cole South took more from Di Dang in this hand with a straight.

Jani10

The loser of the days session was Full Tilt Red Pro Jani Vilmunen. Winners saw Di Dang, Cole South, and Alexander Kostritsyn all leave the tables as six figure winners.

Isildur1 back in the saddle again?

Posted by Poker Videos on February 15th, 2010

February 15th in the United States in President’s Day, but on Full Tilt Poker, it has apparently been $200-$400 pot limit omaha Six-Max $16,000 cap day. Play started before sunrise and has continued all day and into the evening. The cast of characters has ranged from Gus Hansen to durrrrr, theASHMAN103, PostFlopAction, Ziigmund, and everyone’s favorite ATM Isildur1.

Isildur1 big pot

Viktor Blom screen name Isildur1 broke out of his cold streak of late by posting wins on all four tables he played. By the time he was done, Isildur1 was up $375,000 for the day. Hands such as one against both Di Dang screen name Urindanger and Ilari Sahamies screen name Ziigmund were big helps in his posting a win. Urindanger raised from the button to $900 and Ziigmund potted to $3,100. Isildur1 repotted to $10,200 and both of his opponents made the call. The flop fell Jc-4s-8d and Ziigmund pushed $5,800 to meet the cap max of $16,000. Isildur1 and Urindanger both made the call. Ziigmund showed Kd-Qc-10h-4c for a pair and gutshot draw. Isildur showed Ah-8h-Qs-Js for top two pair. Urindanger showed 9h-4h-7s-3s for a pair and lower gutshot draw. The turn fell the 3d and river the 2d and Isildur1’s two pair was good for a pot of $48,000.

Gus Hansen takes one down

Tom Dwan screen name Durrrr didn’t have as good of a session as Isildur1. He split time on two tables and finished the day down $34k. Gus Hansen on the other hand has been putting in the hands and as a result was up nearly $300,000 over 3,000 hands at the time of the writing of this article. Hands such as the one below against POKERBLUFFS has been helping Hansen to post a nice win so far. POKERBLUFFS raised to $800 pre-flop and Hansen three-bet to $1,200. The flop fell 3c-8d-5c and Hansen led out for $1,200. POKERBLUFFS called and the turn fell the 4d. Hansen bet out $2,800 and again was called. The river fell the 5h and Hansen bet out $10,600. POKERBLUFFS made the call and Hansen showed Ad-2d-As-Kc for a wheel. POKERBLUFFS mucked and Hansen took down a $31,798 pot.

ByTheBy Big Pot

A couple of the largest pots of the day went to ByTheBy. He pulled down two pots of around $48,000. Urindanger was involved in one of those pots. ByTheBy raised to $1,200 pre-flop and SyMxF re-raised to $4,000. Urindanger three-bet to $13,200 and ByTheBy called. SxMxF then moved in for the cap max of $16,000 and was called in two spots. SxMxF held Ah-Ac-10s-6h. Urindanger held Kh-Kd-Jh-7s and ByTheBy held 10h-8h-5d-2d. The board fell Jc-9c-7d to give ByTheBy the nut straight. The turn fell the 8c and river the 5s. Nobody had any clubs and ByTheBy took down the 47,999 pot. ByTheBy really needed those pots as he had a very swingy session. One table he was up over $200k but was down $196k on another one. Overall, ByTheBy finished up about $57,000 for the day.

The main downside to the capped games is that you do not see the massive pots that had become commonplace in prior months. The good thing about a capped game is that you can limit some of your loss in the event your big hand gets cracked by garbage. Whether this is just a brief blip or a regular trend will remain to be seen as will whether Isildur1 will be able to continue his win streak. To rail these games live, goto Full Tilt Poker.

High stakes pot limit omaha action January

Posted by Poker Videos on January 12th, 2010

Since the Isildur1 mega matches, the high stakes matches have retreated from 500/1000 PLO to 100/200 PLO. Di Dang
aka Urindanger has slowly been building his roll:

Tom Dwan aka durrrr has also left the 500/1000 and is building his roll too:
durrrr stats

Looking at the graph, you can clearly see the devastating losses Tom suffered to Isildur1. I’m going to chalk that up to tilt. I think he showed that he doesn’t have one of the most important attributes of a top level player – the ability to leave the table when taking heavy losses or suffering multiple bad beats.

Here is some action from 100/200 PLO Omaha at Full Tilt Poker.
