David Singer wins Full Tilt $ 25k Heads-Up World Championship tournament

With a prize pool of $1.6 million, Full Tilt Poker ’s $25k Heads-Up Championship has become the biggest heads-up shootout tournament ever hosted. A field of 64 players, 22 of whom are Full Tilt pros, showed up for this event. The tournament played down until the final 4 players remained, David Singer, Andy Bloch, Brian Hastings, and Whitelime aka Emil Patel. David Singer would eliminated Brian Hastings when his pocket 5’s outdrew Hastings pocket 9’s with all the money in preflop. Meanwhile Andy Bloch was struggling to stay alive near the end before finally got knocked out by Whitelime when his Ace Ten failed to catch against Whitelime’s pocket 7’s.
David Singer was able to have the chip lead from the get go. Whitelime made a daring move with 10 3 offsuit, and unfortunately for him, it cost him 1st place. David Singer’s hand would hold up and he would pocket $560,000 for taking down the $25k buy-in tournament.
