Iron Henry takes down Sunday Million for $163K

On May 4, 2008, Pokerstars hosted its’ Sunday Million $215 buyin tournament. A field of 7,001 players bought in to compete for $1,400,000 in prize pool money. The final table got underway with Hobbybob as the chip leader. Hobbybob held almost half of all chips in play when it was 7-handed, however he would eventually get knocked out in third place. After it was heads up, the Iron Henry and Shankingyou agreed to a deal when their stacks were almost equal in size. The two would each finish with at least $133k, leaving $30k for the winner. Iron Henry went on to send his opponent to the rail and finish in first place, netting the grand prize of $163k.

KipsterDK takes down Pokerstar’s Sunday Million for $150k
Pokerstars hosted it’s monthly $535 Sunday Million tournament on April 27, 2008. The field consisted of 3,119 players for a total prizepool of roughly $1.5 million, half of which paid out at the final table. The final table went underway with KipsterDK as the starting chip leader. After 11 hours, it went down to the last 5 players, whom all agreed to a deal based on current chip count. Tshooter1970 would get the highest adjusted payout based on his chip lead at the time. However, there was still $30,000 left to play for and only 1st place would get it. KipsterDK would go onto be the last one standing and take down the tournament for a final payout of $149,860.

On April 20, 2008, Pokerstars hosted it’s weekly Sunday million guarantee tournament with a $215 buy in. The amount of entrants totaled 7176 and the prize pool was well above the guarantee at $1,435,000.
