Brian Hastings
If you log into Full Tilt and check out the high stakes poker games, particularly 200/400 PLO, one name you will consistently see is LucLongly, who has recently switched to his real name as his screenname, Brian Hastings. Hastings is a 19 year old student at Cornell, who unlike many young pro’s is still pursuing his education. Hastings is an engineering major, and plans on finishing school and pursuing a career in engineering while allowing poker to make a nice side income. With a bankroll in the hundreds of thousands, I would say it will provide a great side income for him. Brian started his path to poker stardom in high school, playing in home games with friends, and eventually signing up on Ultimate Bet as Stinger885 depositing $30 and playing .05 and .10 no limit, and losing his small roll a few times. As time went on, he began beating the game consistently, moving up in stakes, and playing in small multi table tournaments. He took home some nice tournament cashes and his bankroll quickly grew to the point where he was playing $25/50 no limit, and now to where he is at today, sitting with $100k and playing with the top players in the world at the $200/400 PLO tables. He is currently destroying the pot limit omaha game, playing regularly with the likes of TREX313, OMGClayAiken, URINDANGER, and many others, Brian is having more days of winning over 100k than he is losing sessions.

Brian’s next big poker goal is to break into the live tournament scene, however unless he is going to be traveling to other parts of the world, that is one goal that will have to wait. Brian seems to play a very calculated game, picking spots well, and not falling prey to the ultra aggressive players, as he seems to always get his money in good. Brian is just one of the many young poker prodigy’s you will find playing at this level, however is definitely among the best. Check Brian out playing 200/400 PLO on FTP, or if your brave enough, sit down with him at the tables.
