Daniel Drescher Bio
Daniel Drescher “Allanon85” took down two large tournaments in a single night on March 17th. First, he took down the $100 with rebuys NL Holdem event on PokerStars. This win earned him over $16,000. Next, he won the PokerStars Super Tuesday event, outlasting a field of 324 players to win over $71,000. While $91,000 is a huge score, these were just the most recent victories for a poker player that has quickly begun to garner notice.
On October 5, 2008, Drescher took down the PokerStars Sunday Million. That day, 7,244 players logged on put up the $215 to take their shot at a $1.5 Million guaranteed prize pool. Drescher made the final table that included Soren Kongsgaard as the third shortest stack. He was then able to make a strong comeback to make three handed play as the chip leader. A quick deal locked up $147,000 for Drescher, and from there he dominated play to come out on top for the win and a total $177,450 payday.
Drescher used to be primarily a cash game poker player but decided to switch over to tournaments around Sept 2008. The move has obviously paid off for him. As of right now, Drescher is attending college, although his major was not made public.
If Drescher can continue this type of success, it is very possible we could see him forgo the rest of his schooling and try and become a full time online pro. In the meantime, he can enjoy his two fantastic finishes.
