Jeff Lisandro

Lisandro’s first big win was in a PL Holdem event during the preliminaries of the WPT Bellagio Five Diamond in 2003. He took home over $122,000 in that event and then six months later had a solid 2004 WSOP where he cashed five times, including three final tables. Lather that year, he won a Heads-Up Limit Holdem event in Vegas to the tune of $194,000. In 2005, Lisandro took his first and only WSOP Circuit title when he wont the Main Event at Lake Tahoe, good for $542,360.

The 2006 WSOP was the first time that Jeff Lisandro was introduced to the general public. He went deep in the Main Event and his confrontation with Prahlad Friedman has become legendary. Friedman accused Lisandro of stealing a 5,000 chip ante and the two almost went to blows. It was later proven by videotape that Lisandro did not steal the chip, but Friedman never apologized for his accusation.

The 2007 WSOP proved to be another monster series for him. First, he finished runner up in the $5,000 PLO World Championship for $294,620. Then eleven days later, Lisandro took down his 1st ever WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 Stud Event, good for $118,426. Lisandro cashed 6 times in the 2007 WSOP. Lisandro nearly won his 2nd bracelet in 2008, but fell short of winning the $5,000 2-7 Event. He finished in 2nd, good for over $347,000.

Nobody could have saw the year Lisandro was going to have at the 2009 WSOP. He started by bubbling the final table of the Stud World Championship. Then less than a week later, he won his 2nd ever bracelet in the $1,500 Stud Event. Then after cashing in two other events, Lisandro went on to take down the Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo World Championship for his 3rd career bracelet and $431,656. Lisandro was not done. He then turned around and five days later took down the $2,500 Razz Event to win his third bracelet of 2009. He became only the 3rd player in WSOP history to win three bracelets in a year. In addition, he became only the fourth player in WSOP history to have won a bracelet in all variants of stud, effectively giving him the stud bracelet triple crown.

Lisandro’s 2010 was relatively quiet. He finished 5th in the $3,000 HORSE event, but otherwise had not made much noise until the WSOP Europe. He then took down his 5th career bracelet when he won the £5,000 PL Omaha Event. This gave him five career bracelets, and four over the last two years.

For his career, Jeff Lisandro has nearly $4.5 Million in tournament winnings. He has not has a year under $100,000 in winnings since 2002. In addition, he is first on the Italian All-Time Money Winner’s list and 9th on the European list.

Jeff Lisandro is one of the rare breed of players that can play equally well in both tournaments and cash games. In addition, he has proven his prowess in all forms of poker, and has established himself as possibly the greatest Seven Card Stud tournament player of all-time. With five career bracelets and four in the last two years, it remains to be seen where this stud great will finish on the all-time bracelets list.
