Michael Mizrachi Biography
Michael Mizrachi is an American professional poker player, born in Miami Florida January 5th 1981. Poker blood runs right through the Mizrachi family his brother Robert has had some moderate success on the professional poker tour, and has a twin brother Eric who plays as well. Some people might say Michael’s game is magical, his brother Daniel is a Professional Magician.

Michael Mizrachi’s career was not one of jump to the scene, but more of a grass roots effort by playing online poker at small buy in’s from 10$ to 40$ eventually moving to the 100$ to 200$. Mizrachi’s steady play online was good, but being his own worst critic he would spend hours taking personal inventory whenever he would lose. There were times he thought of giving up his dream, he was in school pursing a career as a Doctor but decided to drop out after seeing brother Robert’s success.
The son of a Iraqi Jewish father, made a life changing decision putting all his chips in one basket and started his career on the Professional Poker Tour.
The risk versus reward has seemed to pay off for Mizrachi as he has methodically built a strong reputation at the tables and taken on the moniker “the grinder”
January 2005 Mizrachi finished fifth in the World Poker Tour, at a table featuring Daniel Negreanu and Scotty Nguyen. That strong finish built momentum for the following month where he captured a total of $1,173,373 in earnings , doing so by defeating Ted Forest and Erick Lindgren. 2005 was good to Michael Mizrachi as he finished 11th out of 245 participants in the $25,000 World Poker Tour championship, and by matching a record (at that time) of 7 money finishes in the World Series of Poker.
Michael Mizrachi continued his path to success in the World Poker Tour’s fourth season with a second place finish to Scotty Nguyen in the Gold Strike World Poker Open, then in the event that followed he won $1,173,373 and a 2006 Cadillac Escalade at a table that included John D’Agostino and Erick Lindgren. Michael’s proven ability landed him a spot in the 2nd season of High Stakes Poker. In 2006 Michael Mizrachi won Card Players player of the year award and affirming career was in full gear.
In 2010 Michael Mizrachi’s Poker career came full circle, winning his first bracelet in the $50,000 Player’s Championship event, and a total of $1,559,046 as his brother Robert finished 5th. His career live tournament winnings are well above $8,600,000, and $2,146,322 came from his play in the World Series of Poker.
Michael Mizrachi is married and resides in Hollywood Florida with wife Aidiliy and son Paul.
