High stakes poker player Mohamad Kowssarie from Sweden plays under the names “TheTerrorist”, “Fast_Freddie”, and on Full Tilt Poker “TerrorOfSweden”. He plays all stakes over $10-$20 NLH up to $100-$200, and even sometimes $200-$400 and $300-$600 NLH or PLO.

Mohamad Kowssarie has been playing poker for many years. He did not start playing for real money until about four or five years ago. He said he learned the game the hard way, playing for hours and hours, over and over, building and tearing down his bankroll and self-esteem numerous times. He built his online bankroll up from multi-tabling six-handed low limit games and playing fixed limit heads up and full ring games. He believes he has been able to get to the level he is at now because he has spent many hours playing poker and has not given up despite the road blocks.
The last few years, he estimates, he has made about $2-$3 million from online cash games. Kowssaire first came in the spotlight when he won a monster pot online at Prima Poker against Norwegian online pro Johnny Lodden (”bad_ip”) for $465,451. The board showed 7c, Ah, Ac, 5s, and Kc. KKowssarie (”Fast_Freddie”) showed As Js. Lodden mucked but allegedly had A9. Kowssarie left the table with over $750,000, a record for the biggest cash game win online.
After this win, there was rumors that Kowssarie cheated. The accusers believed that Kowssarie used the help of a Russian computer expert, to help him get into his opponent’s computers. Supposedly, he used a security hole in MSN messenger to get in and get access to his opponents’ cards. The irrational play of Mohamad Kowssarie provides further evidence that he is cheater.
Johnny Lodden helped start this rumor after he found a Trojan on his computer which he received after he talked to Kowssarie about setting up a game. After the session with Kowssarie he contacted a support guy at an ISP to find out who the Trojan came from. The support guy found that it came from Kowssarie’s computer. This evidence changed the minds of many of those who were skeptical of Kowssarie being a cheater.
From this evidence it became certain that Kowssarie was a online poker cheater until he responded to bloggers on a poker forum. He said the first time he ever heard about this story was indirectly from popular Swedish poker pro Erik Friberg (”Lirarerik”). Friberg claimed he had cheated him out of $200,000, and he believed that the game was a setup. Kowssarie said he did not understand where these accusations were coming from. He stated that he never played Friberg for that amount of money. He then said that one of the few people he is down money against is Friberg.
Friberg felt that the game Kowssarie beat him out of in $200-$400 PLO was done irrationally and way too fast to be a fair game. Friberg requested his money back, claiming he had evidence for this but then hesitates to show this to Kowssarie.
Kowssarie started to get this nasty reputation because of Friberg which Johnny Lodden had heard about. Lodden then all of a sudden claimed Kowssarie was irrational and the worst player around. During EPT Barcelona Kowssarie openly challenged Lodden to a series of live headsup matches to show people he was not a cheater.
Kowssarie said he could understand where the accusations were coming from but instead of confronting him, Lodden went to the Poker News and talked behind his back.
Kowssarie then went on to give background between him and Johnny and explained himself. The game between him and Lodden took place when his bankroll on Prima Poker was at its peak. He played Lodden repeatedly with good runs in $200-$400 NLH. All the big pots can be found on high stakes databases. Kowssarie said he is always willing to sit down and go over them with anyone concerned about how he won. Peopled believed he had beat Lodden for his whole bankroll, but actually he had two big losses againts Lodden for $250k and $160k. Altogether though, he was up on Lodden.
Kowssarie then went on to try and disprove the rumors that he cheated by going through MSN. He said, a while ago his MSN and contacts were hijacked by a hacker, the same thing that happened to many other players on Prima Poker. Luckily, though, he logged out from his account the same time this happened and managed to put freezes on most of his poker accounts. Even though he did this, a lot of his contacts leaked out. The hacker chatted with them. He attempted to manipulate them so they could loan him money, pretending to be Kowssarie. He said all this can be backed up with the logs of conversations with hotmail support and the local police who tried to reclaim his hotmail.
The day he got control of his account back, he personally talked to all his contacts and told them that if they got any malicious files from his account that they should scan their computer. He cannot explain all the technical details of the things that spread but since his account got hijacked he now has hired a security company to evaluate his system for him.
After Kowssarie defended himself against these malicious rumors everyone on the poker forum who seemed like they thought he was a cheater, which was almost all of them, began to change their opinions of him because of his well explained response. The people got to hear the whole other side of the story that was not known. You can be the judge of whether you think he is a cheater or a very talented poker player.
In 2007 Kowssarie played a live event to quiet the remaining skeptics. He played at the EPT Barcelona for a respectable finish. He got 10th place for a prize of $84,928. Kowssarie currently lives in Las Vegas, with the intention of playing more live events including the WSOP. He can also be found on Full Tilt Poker playing high stakes under the name “TerrorOfSweden”.
