Sebastian Ruthenberg Bio
Sebastian Ruthenberg is a 24 year old poker player from Hamburg, Germany. He first started playing poker in January 2004, then became a professional player in July 2006, after he finished his technology course at a university. He prefers online poker over live poker due to the faster pace and the ability to multitable. Sebastian plays mostly No limit holdem cash games with $1,000 to $5,000 buyins, sometimes up to 8 tables. Occassionally, he will play MTTs and fixed limit cash games. Some of the names he uses online are: taktloss47 (Full tilt poker, Pokerstars, Bodog) and LordLuckbox (PartyPoker, Titanpoker).
He first got recognition when he took 3rd place in the 2007 European Poker Tour Main Event at Dortmund. Pokerstars sponsored him as a result, which spurred him to play more live tournaments. He has over $900,000 in live tournament cashes to date. He holds one WSOP bracelet from winning the 2008 $5,000 World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo event. He considers bankroll management and discipline the main reasons for his success.
When Sebastian is not playing poker, he likes to play billiards, party with friends, or watch U.S.A. television shows such as “Heroes”, “The Shield”, and “The Office”. When an interviewer asked him what he imagined himself doing in 5 years, he replied: “living in a big villa and sipping cocktails”.
