Very little is known at this time about Diane Nguyen. What is known is that you don’t want to sit across the felt from her. She is a ruthless and generally courteous player who deserves some fantastic credit for her talent. Unfortunately at this time, she is getting a lot of attention from the Las Vegas police department, and from the MGM grand who have chosen to ban her when her boyfriend was nearly robbed. We’ll get more into that story in a few moments.

Diane Nguyen lived in Southern Alberta, Canada, before moving to the United States nearly a year ago.

2003 September in the United States Poker Championship, in Atlantic City, Diane Nguyen landed in 15th place in the 500 dollar 7 card stud event. It gave her a taste of tournament poker cash, adding 243 dollars to her entry fee. She made her first major poker tournament cash in the World Series of Poker Warm Up event 2, Limit Hold’em, in 2004. In that event she took first place. She went on from there to compete in the Trump Classic No Limit Hold’em in December of the same year. She placed 8th, and cashed just over a grand for her success. She played cash games and small stakes tournaments and entered training to become a dental hygienist, until February 2008. She entered the World Poker Tour’s Season 6, event 4 of the LA Poker Classic where she was 3rd at the final table cashing in her biggest windfall – 63,950 dollars. Then she finished 8th in the next NL Hold’em game, which was event 11 of the same Poker Classic. 2008 Big Poker Oktober, NL Holdem Event 14 she cashed in 11th place for 680 dollars, finishing out her biggest year in poker. When she sits down at the table in the tournament it is obvious her sights are set on the final table.

Currently she is involved with a high stakes cash poker player, who recently was the subject of a botched robbery. As the would-be robber attempted to force her boyfriend into the room, the robber was surprised by her presence there. Her personal connections are what have her in the news. Because she knew the person who purchased the bag used by the would be robbery suspect, and has refused to corporate with the Las Vegas Police department on the matter, MGM Mirage and Bellagio have both banned her and her boyfriend. The ban will remain in effect until this case is resolved.
