Fatima Moreira De Melo was born on the 4th of July, 1978 in Rotterdam. Her amazing looks might make you think that she is just another model but there is far more to her than her looks that makes De Melo special. She is most known for her skills in the world of field hockey where she has been playing the role as striker. De Melo has played well over 150 matches and has scored 30 times during her impressive career.

Her debut match was in 1997 when her team faced Germany which ended with a 2-1 victory for The Netherlands. De Melo was also part of the Dutch team that won the 2006 Women’s Hockey World Champion. Also in 2006 she was honored with the title of “Rotterdam Sportswoman”. Another career highlight for De Melo was at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing where she added an Olympic gold medal to her list of accolades after the Dutch team beat China in the final.

Field hockey is not the only thing that De Melo has on her CV. In 2006 she obtained a Masters Degree in Law. De Melo is also an avid TV presenter for both local and national television stations. And if that is not enough De Melo also has skills in singing which she put to good use by performing for the International Hockey Federation.

And now this multitalented media star is adding poker to her résumé. Pokerstars have chosen Fatima Moreira De Melo to join their team. She will be representing them on various tours including the High Heels Poker Tour (HHPT) which is a women-only tournament designed to promote women entering the masculine world of poker. She joins the like of Vanessa Rousso, Katja Thater and Vicky Coren to act as role models for the next female poker superstar. De Melo has no intention of being just “the next poker babe”. She is rumored to be getting professional coaching; adamant to learn the ways to take the money from the big boys and to show that poker is no longer just a man’s game.
