Trishelle Cannatella Biography
Trishelle Cannatella is in the spotlight again after making the 2010 World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational final table. Cannatella is no stranger to the spotlight. With her gorgeous, sandy blond hair and the body of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model (not to mention her televised menage-a-trois on MTV’s The Real World: Las Vegas which launched her to immediate stardom) one can’t help but take notice.
Cannatella was born November 4, 1979 and raised in a small town in Louisiana. She was raised Southern Baptist and her mother, a devout Christian, made sure the family went to church at least three times a week. Unfortunately, her mom died from a brain tumor when Trishelle was only 14 years old. As a result, the once “straight arrow” with good marks in school and many athletic successes turned away from the church and toward rebellion, acting out as a “bad girl” in an effort to ease her pain. During her senior year, she found herself a more well-rounded group of friends and eased up on the rebellion. After high school, she attended The University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in English. Though, she never made it to graduation, this notoriously charming young lady found success nonetheless.

As she was nearing graduation in 2002, the responsibility of paying back student loans was weighing on her. She heard an ad on the radio for a reality TV show which offered a $50,000 prize. She decided to audition but she was later told the show was canceled. Cannatella did not go unnoticed and was asked to audition for the MTV reality show The Real World: Las Vegas. She landed the part and within the first few nights made an immediate name for herself after participating in the aforementioned threesome with two other cast-mates. After The Real World, she went on to appear in a number of other reality TV shows such as Punk’d and Fear Factor. In addition, she landed some film roles: The Scorned, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, 33 Griffith Lane and Ninja Cheerleaders. Trishelle also posed for Playboy’s on-line site and DVD “Girls of Reality”.
More recent ventures have landed her in the poker world. It all began when friend of hers who manages poker players hired her to make appearances and attend various charity poker events. As with most players, curiosity got the best of Trishelle who started to play the game regularly. She started off with a “Poker for Dummies” set and played in home and online games. She taught herself how to play and started winning. Cannatella then decided to play a live tournament at Caesar’s Palace, a low-stakes, $80 buy-in event and won the event. A subsequent appearance on Celebrity Poker Showdown furthered her desire to pursue a poker career. In November 2009, Cannatella accepted Absolute Poker’s offer to be their ambassador. So you can expect to find her playing on the site under “Trishelle_C” on a regular basis and follow her progress on her blogs.
Trishelle continues to prove herself worthy of poker stardom as she took home the first ever Trash Talk Championship title at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Vegas in February, 2010. During this charity event, she stormed her way through 60 other players including celebrity poker players such as Lou Diamond Phillips, Jesse Metcalfe, Cheryl Hines and sister site UB.com’s Tiffany Michelle. In addition to her pot money (most of which she donated back to charity), she took home the crystal cup and a seat at the WPT Celebrity Invitational. Cannatella has made it to the final table of the WPT Celebrity Invitational stacked fourth overall with 1,540,000 chips. First overall, Sean Urban, will be starting with 2,090,000 chips.
We’ll have to wait and see if she can bring home the title. Most are thinking it won’t happen but this girl’s determined and definitely has some talent. Safe to say, win or lose, she’s definitely making the game more interesting.
